Personal Statement
I am a very dedicated and passionate player. Loyalty to my team and coaches drives me to do whatever it takes to support them and win; my teammates and coaches have always meant the world to me. The most meaningful praise I’ve received from a coach was “Erin will run through a brick wall for the team.” I will show my coaches that no one will out work me, and that I am excited to improve and help the team to improve with every practice and performance. I put a high priority on respect and appreciation for all my coaches and teammates. The many years of my experience in playing softball have repeatedly reinforced this mentality and these traits.
My high school varsity softball team has excelled each year, and I believe we have done so because we have a passionate core group of players who choose to practice year-round. We are dedicated to one another and are determined to become the best in our state. I look forward to playing on a college level where each player has the highest commitment and loyalty to the team as I do.
I have always enjoyed creating, building and improving things--I hope to turn that desire into a professional career in engineering. Ideally, I would love my college experience to include playing softball while pursuing an engineering degree, as well as building relationships with people who have similar interests to my own.
