Kavanti Brooks '22 Recruiting Profile

As a student athlete for the last 10 years, I have been able to develop and cultivate my leadership skills and shown I am committed to always giving my best no matter how difficult the circumstance or challenge. I care about my individual growth, but also the growth of my teammates. I consistently put in the effort to improve my skills on a daily basis but also, have a positive attitude, and ask questions on how to improve in different areas.

Since the age of 13, I have wanted to pursue a career in nursing; after visiting my great-grandmother in the hospital. Seeing her in such a vulnerable state put me in a place of helplessness. All I wanted to do was make people comfortable and see them smile. I have always had a natural instinct to help others.

Receiving a scholarship to play basketball; is not only a wonderful opportunity, it ensures that my parents don’t financially  have to worry about being in debt or struggling to pay for me to get an education.
