My name is Cary Brown and my goal is to continue my education into college and play at the collegiate level. I was inspired to play basketball since I watched my older sister playing growing up. I started playing at 7 years old. Ever since I loved playing, I joined a club team in 7th grade. My first year in high school I was on varsity and a starter. That year (2021-2022) we won the South Bay League. I was awarded 1st Team All League and Scholar Athlete of the year with a 4.0 GPA. Sophomore year I was captain of my team and we won League again and CIF Division III (2022-2023). I was awarded 1st Team and Player of the Year for the South Bay League. Junior year we are 3-peat South Bay League Champions, back to back CIF Division III Champs, Division V Southern Regional Champs, and State Finalist 2nd place. For the State Championship game I was awarded the sportsmanship award. It was a really great experience as we traveled to Sacramento to play. This year I averaged 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, per game while being 64% for free throws and 44% on field goals. Off the court I continue to maintain a 4.0 GPA taking 2 AP classes and 1 honor. I’m the officer for California Scholarship Federation (CSF) which represents students who have demonstrated high academic achievement. I’m also the class of 2025 officier where I help brainstorm ideas to raise money for the class of 2025 and help count money we’ve raised as well. Overall, basketball has helped me become a hard worker, disciplined, and a good communicator on and off the court which is why I want to continue playing basketball in college and further my education.
