Personal Statement
My name is Megan Piggott and I am a 5'10", 130 pound shooting guard/small forward from Ponte Vedra High School. I am a two year Varsity starter entering my junior year this fall. For the past two years I have also played AAU basketball for Coach Sherri Nowatzki (former Division 1 through NAIA collegiate basketball coach). I am writing to you because, after researching the school, I have a strong interest in playing basketball in college starting the fall of 2015.
During my high school career I have achieved the following accolades: freshman year I was team captain, team MVP, and All-County honorable mention where I averaged 12 points per game; as a sophomore I was once again selected team captain, team MVP, All-County first team, All-Northeast Florida second team, I led St. Johns County in scoring with 18 points per game and had a 48% field goal percentage, which was fourth in all of northeast Florida.
I am a dedicated, versatile, and fierce competitor. Off the court, I have been training for the last three years to improve my strength, agility, and quickness. I have also excelled in the classroom where I am ranked 11 out of 365 students with 4.32 GPA. I am a member of the National Honor Society and competed and placed in district competition for FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), qualifying for state competition.
