Personal Statement
My basketball career primarily started when I went to a ball handling class when I was in the third grade. I could not do the first drill and I cried. The instructor urged me to come back, so I did. I stuck with it, and within a couple weeks I was getting pretty good. I fell in love with the game of basketball from that point on.
That same instructor later became my travel team coach for my middle school years. He pushed me to my absolute best every practice and game. I work hard every day. I play for that little girl inside of me who fell in love with the game.
I strive to be a leader. I want to do everything I can to make my teammates better and my coach's job easier. I watch a basketball game almost every day so I can be a better decision maker. With being a leader comes with good defense. I feel like I have to play harder on defense so I can show my teammates how bad I want every game.
My goal is to look back to the prior year's film and stats and be able to say I am significantly better than that year. With that, I hope to play basketball in college. I don't care who I play for; I just want to get a good education, and extend my basketball career.
