My name is Ava Locke and ever since I was young I have had a passion for basketball. My goal is to one day play college basketball and do whatever it takes to get there. Although many may see my height as a disadvantage, it has actually been a strength. It has pushed me to develop better ball handling skills to outmanuver opponents and made me be even more aware of the court and teammates who are open. I am from a small town, so I really want to show everyone that hard work gets you places and to never give up on something you really want.
I would be a great choice for college basketball because of my many skills I carry on and off the court. From my 3-point shooting, to driving to the basket and my quickness, which makes me able to push the ball when needed. One of my specialties that also makes me a prospect is my court vision on defense. I can read the court very well and see passes, screens and help teammates on weak side. Another thing that is very important that I have is being coachable and being able to listen to what the coach is telling me to do and to carry out the game plan.
My toughness on the court carries over to my off the court activites such as academics and clubs. I strive to get better at everything on and off the court and know there is always room to improve.
