Personal Statement

The first time I seen basketball being played, then picked one up 16 years ago, I fell deeply in love with the sport. I was deeply inspired by my older cousins at the time,  they all played the game so well, but they didn’t have much opportunities to make it to the next level, so they had to stop playing after high school. Thats one thing that deeply disappointed me, so I told them I was going to be the first in the family to take it all the way to the pros. As I learned more aspects about the game I couldn’t help myself to think, eat, sleep, and talk basketball. The reason im able to grow so well as a basketball player, is because I am very coachable, I try to push myself to the fullest at all times, and I don’t stop playing and practicing basketball just because the season is over, I invest so much of my money, parents money, my blood, sweat, and tears, into striving to be my absolute best.

One of my most memorable and  favorite moment, was winning districts as a freshman. It was my school‘s first time winning districts in 40 years. It was a huge accomplishment especially as a freshman helping the team push to achieve that goal, it meant a whole lot more.

After quarantine hit, we were all stuck at home, but I still went to the track, park, gym and in my backyard to workout and hoop everyday. It inspired me to challenge myself and start my dunking process. I wasn’t able to dunk 7.5ft now I’m almost getting it in 9ft the progress is there. I am human and got discouraged, but I still strive to work on all aspects of the game. My form, Dunking!, passing, ball handling, etc.
