Aliyah Coleman '24 Recruiting Profile

College has always been a dream of mine. The environment, the culture, the higher demand for EXCELLENCE and higher competition. I aspire to play the sport I love while attending college and that sport is basketball. I am determined and am currently putting in the work necessary to attend college in the medical field. Outside of academics, I love basketball, and since playing in college is my athletic dream, I will do both. When I put my mind to something, there is absolutely nothing that can stop me and that is why I put in work everyday. One of the players that motivate me is Brea Beal, she shows hard work and her toughness on defense makes me want to work harder myself. Another player that is a joy to watch is Haley Jones, I Iove to see her enjoy playing the game and helping her team wherever she can in order to win. My goal is to  play competitive basketball at the college level in a place I can also be challenged academics. I know I can, and I will become a better student athlete everyday. However, I will always be a student first. My aspiration is to be a pediatrician, and an athlete next, because when I am on the court I do not want to worry if I will be able to participate because of my grades. There will be no academic struggle with my 4.0 GPA. Not only am I a hardworking student in class,  but also one in the game. I know I do not know everything and I know I have not reached my potential, but I am committed. My drive for success will enable me to do whatever it takes to be a doctor and accomplished athlete. My ability to listen, implement instruction obtained from those who coach/direct me, my determination to obtain the knowledge needed to be proficient in this sport, and academics  is how I will achieve my goals as an athlete, medical student.
