Throughout my childhood I loved to watch my brothers play basketball, which drove my ambition to be an athlete at an early age. Even after moving fromArizona to Michigan my desire to be a basketball player was still embedded within me. Relocating to a new state is never easy and personally I can say that it has made me a more aware and wise person. The drastic changes to my family’s living and money situations has taught me to appreciate every opportunity throughout life, to not waste time, and to cherish the people around me even more.Furthermore, I have always strived academically knowing that it would better my chances of achieving life goals. Since I could talk I have been pushing myself mentally and physically to exceed my own expectations. Although the realization that not everything can be perfect was later on adopted, I Persevered and kept working on forming the best version of myself both athletically and academically. Pushing my brain in school by taking advanced classes and passing them helped me understand that the only thing holding my capabilities back, was myself. I worked my way into a starting position on my varsity team and it took alot of strength because i had to prove who I was to my teammates, my coaches, and myself. I had to establish that I was worthy and also show that my abilities and skills were surpassing my old ones. Joining a travel basketball team and attending one-on-one workouts really drove my potential higher, and helped me discover that playing basketball was my dream and that i would do anything to prolong it throughout my life.
