My name is Markie Wippel. I started Teays Valley in the 8th grade. I fell in love with the game of basketball at four years old when I first started to play competitively. I have always dreamed of playing basketball at the next level. I started playing AAU in the third grade, and played at the National level. This past year my AAU team traveled to the University of North Carolina and participated in the Deep South Classic. This summer I plan to attend a position camp, shooting camp and individual skill camp in North Carolina so I can expand my game and become more versatile on the floor. I started on the varsity basketball team as a freshman, and plan to keep working hard to increase my role. I look up to my sister Makenzie Wippel who plays for Wilmington College. In the summer time I attend her open gyms to gain experience with college level athletes and further expand my game. When things are going tough I look to my sister as inspiration to work hard every moment to reach my goals of continuing my basketball career past high school. I also have a highlight video on Hudl.
Off the court I help my dad on the farm and show pigs at the local, state and national level. I am in FCA, & FFA at Teays Valley High School, and have been in 4-H for several years. I have a 3.0 GPA and will keep working to excel in the classroom as well.
Over the next 3 years I plan to continue to expand my game on all levels, to get stronger in the weight room and ultimately reach my dream to play at the collegiate level.
Thank you for your consideration,
Markie Wippel
