*COMMITTED TO THE UNIV. OF NEW ENGLAND
My name is Madison Lyman, I am a 5'8" 130 lb. combo-guard/wing. I am a Senior (2017) at Middletown High School in Rhode Island. You can view my 2014-2015 Basketball Highlight Reel @ http://youtu.be/gsHHDHofK8k . I started playing basketball when I was 5 years old. It has been a goal of mine to play at the college level since I began seriously training and playing AAU basketball in 6th grade. I have trained and played for AAU club RI Thunder for 4 years, played in multiple high-end tournaments such as The Albany Capitals Classic, NY (2012, 2013), Nike/Jr. Nationals in Hershey, Pennsylvania (Summer, 2012) and Nike/Jr. Nationals in Washington DC (Summer 2013) as well as the Zero Gravity Championships in Massachusetts and New York (2014) and many others. Currently, I am training with Hoop Dreams/Chris Herron's Elite Training to continue strength training and skill development and compete against other elite players that are college bound.
I am looking for a college that will be the right match for me academically and although I am undecided, I have interests in Sports Management, Exercise Science, Communications, or Physical Education. As a player, I am looking for a program that will allow me to grow in as competitive environment as possible. I am looking for the college and coaching team that allows me to play the game I love to the best of my ability. I'm very coachable, a quick learner, mentally and physically strong under pressure, energetic, a respectful teammate, I can score and play defense!
As a high school Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior I was named to the RI High School All-Division Team, All-Class Team, Coaches Choice All-Tournament Team and the Newport County All-County Team as the starting shooting guard/point guard (Combo). I was named my high school team MVP for the 2014-2015 season (20-2 Overall) and Team Captain for my Junior and Senior seasons. Also, my High School Team received the 2015 state sportsmanship award in which I am very proud.
I work hard in school and I am determined to achieve my goal of playing basketball in college. I know that I will be ready to play and contribute at the next level upon graduating HS in 2017.
Please review my highlight video from my Sophomore season along with my 3-year stats, and feel free to contact me (Madison Lyman at 401-595-6605), or my father (Bill Lyman at 401-644-6869) if you'd like to connect and explore if I am a match for your program.
Thank you for your valuable time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, Madison Lyman

Ability: "Madison is my go-to girl. She can score, shoot, go to the hole, shoot with either hand. She usually plays guard, but sometimes I need her to play forward and help rebound. She knows how to play defense and help out. Handles pressure and we try to get the ball into her hands so she can score or assist. Good passer and reads the floor well. Also plays soccer and was very instrumental in their championship season last year and selected captain this year. Selected captain her junior and senior year for me in basketball. Looking forward for her to playing college basketball. "
Personality: "Madison is very easy to get along with and listens to advice and criticism very well. Looking forward to this year and her performance. Competitive attitude and work ethic, strives to do better and make her teammates better. Gets along with team and coaches because of her personality. She will be a pleasant asset for anyone."
