Personal Statement

I am a 6'0" Center/Power Forward/Small Forward Player (3, 4, 5 positions) from Brentwood, TN transferring from UNA.   I am very excited to play basketball at a university with a safer surrounding community, I received the Scholar Athlete Award with a 3.77 GPA, participated in the UNA Honors Program, and led all Women Freshmen Basketball Players in rebounds, steals, blocked shots, free throws, free throw percentage, and was second among the Women Freshmen Basketball Players in total points.

I played Center/Power Forward/Small Forward Player (3, 4, 5 positions) for Ravenwood High School and will graduate in the 2013 class.  I have 4 years of Varsity High School and College Exposure Team experience playing the 3, 4, and 5 positions during each season.

I hold the High School record for Double-Doubles, Rebounds, Steals, Free Throws, and Free Throw Percentage in a season and for career Double-Doubles, Rebounds, Steals, Free Throws, and Free Throw Percentage.  I am the team Co-Captain, offensive and defensive leader, and inspirational leader.

Lexi McKay named to the 2011 Insider Exposure All American Team - Class of 2013 - Honorable Mention:

 http://wbbinsider.blogspot.com/2011/07/insider-exposure-all-americans.html
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During my Freshman Year, I started for the Freshman Team and JV Team, and was the second string Center Player on Varsity. For my Freshman Season, I led the Freshman Team and JV Team in: points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots, free throw percentage, and Double-Double games (points, rebounds). On my AAU/YBOA Team (14U-15U), for the Tournament Season (10 Tournaments) I led the team in: points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots, free throw percentage, and Double-Double games. Our SCA Lady Dragons Team won 1st Place in the YBOA TN State Championship, 4th Place in the AAU TN State Championship, and 13th place at the YBOA National Championship Tournament.  Please see the additional achievements listed below.

During my Sophomore year, I started on all JV Games and several Varsity games, and led all Sophomores Players for Season and Career statistics  in: scoring, rebounds, blocked shots, free throws, free throw percentage, steals, Number of Double-Double Games.

During my Junior year, I started all Varsity games, and led all ALL Players for Season and Career statistics in: scoring, rebounds, blocked shots, free throws, free throw percentage, steals, Number of Double-Double Games.  I made the All District Team and was selected as the Mere Bulles Athlete of the Week.

I was selected as a Top Player in the All-Star Games for the 1st Annual Best of Tennessee NCAA Certified Exposure Event.

I am an Honor Roll student with a 3.37 GPA and expect to achieve induction in the National Honor Society. I have Black Belt in Tang Soo Do (Korean Martial Arts). I am a Published Author and Writer, and an active Humanitarian/Volunteer.

I am looking for an academic institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and basketball. I would like to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation and a good support system for the student-athlete. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make strong contributions to the team and help the team achieve its goals. I believe my best fit would be at the DI, DII, DIII, or NAIA level, although I will absolutely consider all athletic scholarship opportunities.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
