Personal Statement
I'm committed.
'm an Academic All-District, 2nd Team All-District Student/Athlete who has lettered on Varsity for the three years I've been on the varsity team as a starter. I pride myself on God first, academics second, and athletics third, and look to continue building on my education and athletic opportunities at a college that has a need for a person like myself.Academics: I'm currently enrolled in AP-Psychology and AP-Environmental Science and completed both AP-English and AP-Physics, with a GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0. I've always enjoyed school, my teachers and classes that I'm enrolled in. I tutor many of my friends who need assistance in understanding many topics in our classes. My desire is to pursue studies in the medical field, eventually leading to a Masters or Doctorate.Athletics: I'm a two letter varsity athlete that works hard not just in the classroom, but also on the court and the field. I've been on the Varsity basketball team for three years and have been the starting post for our school from the beginning. In a 40 minute game, I average 32-34 minutes a game while tying for leading scorer (named Team Offensive MVP), Rebounding and Free Throw Percentage. I've had highs in key games this year in both categories leading to team victories, while averaging double doubles in at least five games.I'm an unselfish player, who leads on the court, relays plays to the team, while ensuring that we are constantly hustling.I've also been playing select basketball for 5 years with the Higher Goals Elite organization. Prior to this year, I've played on 17U, typically in the toughest divisions, while this year, our team plays in the Open-Elite Division, ensuring that we are facing the top talent, usually from Texas and surrounding states.Whether playing basketball in high school on my select team, or on my high school track team, where I'm also a two letter Varsity member for both Shotput and Discuss, I'm a hard worker, player, student, team member and friend. With the dedication I exhibit in life, school and sports, I hope to continue my quest with a college program that appreciates the effort I put forth.Upon request, I can provide links to full game tape to give you an idea of the player I am or would welcome you to any of our Keller Central Chargers games, just look for the girl in the middle #32.
