I have watched my sisters and parents play basketball ever since I was little and as I got older the same love for the sport began to grow in me. I remember the moments where I grew most, and it was surprisingly during COVID-19. There were no tournaments, couldn’t practice with my team due to social distancing but that didn’t stop me from working on my game. Instead, the experience benefited me. I could work on the things I was struggling with to become not only a point guard but an overall better basketball player.
Throughout the years of basketball starting with rec at 4th grade, or my club and high school programs I have learned many things. The work ethic and time commitment that it takes to be in this sport, the teamwork that is needed to win, and the role of a leader. These are the values I want to see in a college program. I want to join a program that is the right fit for me not only athletically but academically fitting as well. I can make an impact on any program because I value the improvement of not just myself but others as well. Being a 3-time sport athlete has shown me I have what it takes.
