Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Kaelynn Lesniak. I am a 6'3" junior, play the position of center and am a team captain. I have 3.6 GPA, a national honors society member and have been the president of several youth organizations. I am passionate about the game of basketball and have been a starting post for all 3 years of high school. My strength on the court is defense. I average 7.4 points per game, 11.2 rebounds. As a junior I broke the school record for blocks.
I have learned the importance of basketball in my life and the true value of hard work through a life experience at the end of my sophomore year. I had a major knee surgery in May that left me sidelined from May- September- the whole summer season. I missed basketball every day. I worked hard through intense and painful rehab with the sole focus of returning to the court for my junior year. Being able to walk back on the court for the first time at the end of September was a huge accomplishment that few understand. I have had to work twice as hard as anyone else on and off the court to be able to work through the fear, get my playing ability back, support my team and be a leader. I know that hard work, dedication and the support of the team are key ingredients to success.
I am excited and ready to face the challenge of college basketball!
