I love basketball because it allows me too escape from stressful aspects of my life. I have developed a deep passion for basketball and it has taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance. I don’t know what I would do without basketball as it is something that is a significant part of not only my life but my daily routine. To me being a part of a team means doing everything you can to help achieve a common goal unselfishly. Having good relationships with your teammates and knowing what they bring to the table is crucial to success. On the best teams I’ve been on everyone knew what their role was and used that to create chemistry with the other players by being unselfish. I think playing together and being unselfish is the most important part about being on a team. Some of my greatest strengths when it comes to basketball is my elite shooting, my ability to drive and get past defenders off the dribble, my free throw shooting and on ball defense. I believe my shooting is the strongest part of my game because I have a very deep range and quick release. I am left handed so most defenders close out with the wrong hand which makes it easier for me to find space and shoot. When I get face guarded, which happens often, my constant movement off the ball helps me create space to get the ball. I am strong and powerful when going to the hoop and can draw fouls on my defender easily. My free throw shooting helps me score easy points because I’m a ninety percent free throw shooter. My on the ball defense is very strong and I often get lots of steals, lots of my coaches say that my defense helps keep my on the court even when my offense isn’t going. Overall, basketball is one of the most significant aspects of my life and I hope to continue playing at the next level where I am given an opportunit.
