Kara Petitt '20 Recruiting Profile

Probably one of the most identifiable things about me is my love for the color rainbow. I have rainbow everything. I have a rainbow unicorn swimsuit, a rainbow smiley face tie-dye T-shirt, rainbow crocs, and a tie-dye lanyard for my car key. This is only a portion of my rainbows, but I think you get the idea. The reason why I chose to tell you this about myself is that, while I do enjoy the visual aspect of the rainbow, I more strive to exemplify what I think rainbows represent. Rainbows occur in the calm after a storm. Similarly, I am a relentlessly positive and happy person. I always chose to find the silver lining and reach out to others when they are having a bad day. During hard dive meets, I strive to encourage not only my teammates but everyone competing and have found that it creates a better spirit and attitude within everyone. My parents have always called me their unicorns and rainbows child, saying that I live in my own world of happiness and sunshine, however, I just think that life is always better when you live with a smile.
