Personal Statement

I have been doing/playing sports ever since I was two years old. I started skiing at the age of two, started softball at the age of five, and started diving at the age of seven. I immediately grew a love for the sport of diving and started competing soon after, under my coach, Jianli You. I train five days a week and always work my hardest so that I can reach my full potential. I have been to the Nevada State Championships and have won Regionals all years of my high school career. My freshmen year, I came in 3rd place at state. I was happy with that outcome as a freshmen but I knew that I could improve so I worked hard to complete that goal. My sophomore year, I got first place and was the Nevada State Campion.

As well as State Champion, I am an All-American diver. I am the team captain at my club, Nevada Diving Club. I always strive to be a good role model for the younger kids and encourage them to be the best that they can be. Diving has taught me how to be mentally tough. You have to learn how to take tough criticism and learn from your mistakes. Overcoming obstacles in diving is not easy but it is necessary to become a well trained, mentally, and physically tough athlete. I also take my hard work ethic to the classroom. I have taken many honors and AP classes and have maintained a high GPA entering me into the National Honor Society. Organizing group projects and time management are some of my strengths.

I plan to continue my educational and athletic work ethic to improve myself and my future team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
