Laura Liu '24 Recruiting Profile

I started playing golf when I was 8 years old. After attending a golf camp, I began competing in tournaments because I enjoyed the sport.  I have competed in the Junior PGA League and local junior tours such as the Top 50 Scholarship Tour, the Callaway/Meijer Junior Tour, and the Golf Association of Michigan Tournaments. 

I am passionate about golf as well as academics. I surround myself with people who prioritize studies which pushes me to put my best effort into my grades and learning. As a freshman, I took the ACT and got a score of 33. When topics in school become difficult, I continue to study until I understand the concept. I apply this mindset to golf as well on the course and during practice. When I am struggling in a round, I always remember to focus on the next shot, and while practicing, I focus on my technique. 

On the varsity golf team, I support my teammates during practices and tournaments. I continue to remind them that a bad round does not define their game. 

I would like the pursue an education in pre-med or business while also playing collegiate golf at a school that is well rounded athletically and academically. I am interested in a career where I can share my knowledge with people who need help.
