Personal Statement
As a student-athlete, I have participated in many different sports with my school and on outside club teams. For over seven years I played soccer on two different travel teams. In school I play on the varsity soccer, softball and basketball teams. I am an active member of my community having been the leader of my grade for three years, advocating for students throughout my high school, I am a Peer Leader, member and now leader of Model United Nations, and began my school's golf club (which will hopefully become a team soon!) just this past fall.
Golf has been a part of my life since I was about seven years old, golfing only on vacations. However, I seriously began to take up the game just four or five years ago. Living in New York City has made it difficult for me to get out on the golf course. I mostly play in New Jersey and Long Island during the weekends (when the weather permits), and summer and winter vacations. Between the past two summers and this one, I will have participated on several tours: the Hurricane Tour, AJGA (American Junior Golf Association), MetPGA Jr. (Metropolitan PGA), NJ PGA Jr., WMGA (Women's Metropolitan Golf Association), and the NJSGA (New Jersey State Golf Association). While my golf experience has been limited due to other commitments in the summer and my location, I have seen where my game can be in order to become a college golfer. I learned this last August when I won my first two tournaments shooting in the high 70s. As a result, I have become committed to developing as a golfer and a person, and I hope to do this in college.
