Personal Statement

I aspire to excel academically and also have the opportunity to continue my soccer career in a colligate environment. I have always been very passionate about learning, whether it's language, physics, or poetry, and I wish to extend the boundaries of my education in college. I strive to find a secure balance between my academic pursuits and athletic goals. I adore the game of soccer. My passion for the game extends through a deep commitment to my club team, Downtown United, and a more casual adoration for the game as I spend my summers playing pick-up "footy" in the vibrant fields of New York City. I feel a similar "out of the classroom" joy when it comes to learning; I enjoy learning through stories from family members, practicing my French with my French neighbors, and reading on my own, while also staying attentive and present in my high school's more traditional learning environment. I believe that the student-athlete identity is not confined to the realms of organized team practices and the school day, and sometimes I've learned the most by exploring something out of the ordinary, such as heading to the local field on a day off to play the beautiful game with people I may not have known, because I've learned that you never know what you may get out of these experiences, in my case I picked up some great 1v1 moves! In college, I aspire to grow my academic and athletic capabilities as well as be able to orient myself well in the community and learn from people of all different backgrounds. I am a good candidate for your team because I am open to learning from multiple perspectives and approaches, and I am a fast learner!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
