Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Olivia Jones. I will graduate from Granville High School in 2025. I have been attending Abeka Academy, but my senior year I will return and graduate from GHS. For my senior year at GHS, I am taking a forensic science and two college classes through OSU and I will be done! I have played on the varsity team at GHS for three years. This past school season, I was voted by my coaches as most dedicated, and will push myself to learn and be the best I can be. Now, that it is post season I am playing from farther distances to prepare for my senior year. I go to the range every other day and have started putting and chipping on the days I don't. If it is above 40 I play.  I started with a new swing coach,he has helped me improve my swing. I'm looking forward to seeing how much better my game will be this spring and summer for tournaments!

My love for golf started when I was asked to play on a team in 6th grade. Although, I had never picked up a club and was quite terrible, I loved the game and have been playing ever since. I have been pushing myself yearly to become a better player.  Each year my scores have gone down. I would play golf every day if I could! This is why I am so excited to play in college, to learn with a coach and other players! I realize, I have so much to learn!

What I am looking for in a college is a team that I can grow and learn with. A coach that is dedicated to the team. A team that works as a team and lifts each other up. A college that will push and challenge me to be the best student and athlete I can be, so I am successful full circle.

My envision is to explore biology to pursue a career in the medical field, while playing golf at a collegiate level.  As I grow both physically and mentally through my golf college career, I will strive to be the best version of myself as an asset for both my team and my school.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
