I am currently enrolled as a freshman at South Mountain CC in Phoenix AZ and a member of the SMCC Cougar golf team. I was named team captain and was selected to serve on the Athlete Leadership council by the athletic department at SMCC. The Athlete Leadership council is a group of athletes that represent all sports at SMCC to help enhance the exposure of all athletic programs in the community as well as on campus.
While I am undecided on a major area of study in college, my interests include Criminology, Pre-law, and Forensic Science. However, since I grew up as a child of a PGA Professional, I do enjoy the golf business and have worked in a golf course setting since I was 14 years old. As a result, I haven't ruled out business or some facet of business as an area of study. This summer I will be working for the South Dakota Golf Association as a PJ Boatwright intern. My duties will include running the West Chapter of the SDGA Junior Tour and assisting with all SDGA Amateur Golf Championshipss.
I want to find a competitive golf program that I can contribute to the team on the course as well as off the course in the classroom. I currently have a 3.765 GPA at SMCC. I believe my accomplishments this past year as a freshman at SMCC demonstrate my ability to lead and support all my teammates in a positive way.
