Personal Statement

My goal is to find a school that will help me continue my growth in education and golf.  I am a hard worker and have a passion to succeed both in school and golf.  I have a high aptitude for learning and very coachable.  I look forward to joining a school where I can help the team succeed.  One aspect that makes me different is I have a quiet confidence in my competition.  I am confident that even after a bad shot, I can work my way out of most situations.  I am very supportive of my teammates and others on the course.  Academic excellence has always been a goal.  I've worked hard to be part of the honors program all through middle school and continuing in high school.  I compete in golf with my high school team and also part of the local Sned's Tour to continue competing during the summer.  I spend the late fall and winter working to improve my game with my swing coach and weight training.  As I talk to other junior golfers, many of them started golf when they were very little.  My path was slightly different in that I didn't pick up a golf club until the 6th grade to try out for the middle school golf team.  I made the team and have worked extremely hard to improve my golf swing to where I am today and competing against the same girls that started much younger than me.  I feel this reflects my work ethic and drive to continue improvement and how quickly I can pick up new changes and adapt.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Sned's Tournament - Regional
  • 7/16/18 to 7/17/18
  • 1st round: 86 degrees, hot/humid. Completed this round with a 92. Had a couple holes where my tee shots landed in unfavorable positions and caused some extra strokes to get out. 2nd round: 88 degrees, hot/humid with 1 hour weather delay. Completed round shooting an 89 and finishing in 6th place.
  • Camp/Event
  • Sned's Tournament
  • 6/27/18 to 6/28/18
  • 1st round: Weather was 93 degrees, hot/humid with light rain prior to match. Completed day shooting an 84 and tied for 1st place. 2nd round: 88 degrees, heavy rain. Long weather delay that eventually caused the round to be cancelled and scored as an 18-hole event. Went to scorecard playoff and that dropped me to finish in 2nd place.
  • Camp/Event
  • Egwani Farms Junior Invitational
  • 10/21/17 to 10/22/17
  • Joined this tournament to get in some off season competition. Day 1 - Scored higher than average. Day 2 - Lowered score from previous day. With this being my normal off season time from school and Sned's, I had begun working with swing coach on fixing swing path and struggled with driver during this tournament. Iron play was consistent. Tee shots left me in some tough positions on some holes.
