Hi Coaches !!
My name is Presley Davies, I’m 16 years old and I live in Atlanta. I play for the Nashville Jr Predators Girls 16U team.
When I first started skating, I was learning to skate as a figure skater at my local rink. However, I would see my brother playing ice hockey and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Now I am in my 3rd year as a Junior Pred, my 7th year playing hockey and I am really beginning to feel confident in my playing ability. My coach says that I am a hard worker and coachable and that with continued determination I can go far. That’s what I plan to do.
I work hard off ice too, training with the TPH academy when I can. I also enjoy cross country and run for my high school team. I like the extra fitness, the challenge of bringing down my times and being with my friends. I love belonging to a team, both in hockey and in running.
As a Type 1 Diabetic (T1D) athlete, I also deal with other challenges on a daily basis. I feel like this has made me stronger and more determined to reach my goals, both academically and in sports, and not be defined by T1D. I look at hockey players like Max Domi and Luke Kunin, who both have T1D and know that it can be done !!
I am looking for a college experience where I can continue to develop as a hockey player, enjoy the team aspect of the sport, be challenged academically (I would love to be a nurse) and just enjoy the college life overall.
