Hello, I'm Winnie Moriarty, a passionate 7th-grade hockey player from Westfield, IN. I proudly represent the 14U Girls Indiana Elite ice hockey team (#96), the highest-level hockey program in our basketball-loving state. I usually play Center, but play Wing when necessary. Alongside hockey, I contribute to our school's online newspaper, participate in Spell Bowl competitions, and engage in community service through my school’s "Builders Club."
My ambition is to play ice hockey at the college level, driven by my love for the sport and dedication to personal growth. What sets me apart is my multicultural background—my dad is American, and my mom is from South Korea. Navigating this diverse world has made me more understanding, approachable, and coachable.
Balancing academic excellence with diverse extracurriculars, I've honed skills in time management, teamwork, and communication. These attributes seamlessly translate to the ice rink, where agility, strategic thinking, and adaptability define my playing style.
In conclusion, I am not just a hockey player; I am a well-rounded individual ready to contribute to a college hockey program. My multicultural background, coupled with a strong work ethic and a love for the game, makes me an ideal candidate. I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills and passion to your team.
Sincerely,
Winnie Moriarty
