Personal Statement
Hockey has been in my blood since day one. I practically grew up in a hockey arena, or at least that's all I can remember. I could barely walk when my first set of skates where laced up on my feet. Year after year my passion for the game I love has grown and with that has been my motivation to work even harder. College hockey has been a dream of mine since the beginning.
I appreciate the sport for many reasons; the way it's played, the athleticism, the technique, but at the end of the day all I want to do is play. I know the game inside and out, I have strong natural instincts, I listen well and can easily put what I'm told into action, I work hard, I lead by example, and I'm a true team player. I push myself to the limits every time I hit the ice and my goal is to always be a better player than I was the game before.
My work ethic is just as strong on the ice as it is off of it. I hold a 4.11 GPA, 10 out of 301 in my class, and I have made the "A" Honor Role every trimester.
I'm not ready to give up the game I love, the game that I grew up on. College hockey would let me continue to play competitively for a few more years along with shaping me into a better athlete and that is all I could hope for.
