Personal Statement

I have been playing hockey and loving it since I was four. I am a dual Canadian/American citizen currently residing in Kanata, Ontario and attending Prep School at Gilmour Academy in Ohio. I am really enjoying the Mid-west, my new teammates, and the elite hockey/academic lifestyle at Gilmour. It is challenging and rewarding, and some days are long. There is always something to do and lots to work on! I have journeyed down this road in hopes of playing hockey after high school at the highest possible level. Gilmour and Coach Conway have really helped me prepare for the college experience. I hope to find a coach and a program that excels in player development and that is willing to help me work hard and continue to learn the game and become the best player and person I can be. I love to play and I really want to play at the highest level.

Academics are also important. I intend to study sports related health and science or sports related business. It would be exciting and rewarding to have a career around the game and possibly coach hockey at a high level. Such a career would allow me to help people while staying around the game and lifestyle I love. I want to make an impact on my team, my teammates and my college. I find the prospect motivating and exciting and know that being able to do so as a college student and then as a career would give me a rewarding, meaningful and fun life. It is a destiny worth working hard for. I am smart, hard-working, athletic and fun and I will strive to be a great leader, teammate and student wherever I go.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
