Personal Statement
My name is Liana Moli and I currently play goalie for my lacrosse travel team, Tenacity Elite 2021 Green in the Bay Area, California. Lacrosse definitely plays a big part in who I am today. When I went to my first team practice and tried lacrosse for the 1st time, it felt exhilarating! I’ve had a stick in my hand ever since. Within the 5 years of playing the sport I’ve learned how to harness leadership skills. Most people think leadership comes from winning, but it’s through defeat and losing games that I found I had to step up and lead my team in challenging situations. Not only do you need to be physically fit, you also have to be mentally fit for lacrosse. As a goalie I have to be ready at all times. I live by the values of teamwork, effective communication and a hard work ethic that my parents instilled in me. I try to use this approach in life in general.
One of my athletic accomplishments is being nominated as a team captain by my team in my 2017 club season. Academically I was honored among the select few 8th grade 2017 Hope of America award recipients in Alameda, California. As a freshman one goal that is very clear to me is to achieve and maintain a 4.0 GPA or higher each semester. I plan to take college classes concurrently and graduate high school with my Associates degree. I’m very committed to lacrosse and it’s a goal of mine to play in college. Currently I don’t have many requirements for a “dream” school and I'm open to learning more about different colleges, universities and programs. I’m excited to discover my perfect fit!
