My Name Is Gabriella “Gabby” Rodriguez and I am a 5’ 3” attacker with a 4.0 GPA. I will be playing for Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, Virginia, as a freshman. I first took to the field three years ago in, playing for the Falls Church Youth Lacrosse Club in Falls Church, Virginia. To keep my skills primed, during the winters, I have played Triple Edge indoor lacrosse, which I really enjoyed because of the speed at which we played, fast. I also lead our winter indoor team in scoring and assists. I now play for Cavalier Lacrosse in Loudoun County, Virginia, leading us in scoring as well.
I am in search of a college/university where I can succeed as a student athlete pursuing a degree in Education. I want to find an institution where my leadership skills on the field can be used and refocused in the classroom as well as community. I want to achieve good grades as well as be a contributing member of the local college/university community.
My father recently asked me, “How much do you like playing lacrosse?” I told him that, “I love to play, and I love my team.” I also let him know that I enjoyed playing attack and scoring goals, but most importantly, as I grow older and see the field better, I enjoy creating goal opportunities for my teammates and getting assists as well. When I can help my teammates do well, we all play harder. When we all play harder, I play harder for my teammates.
I participate in extracurricular activities as much as I can, including choir and the annual school play. In addition, I also enjoy giving back to the community and participating in charitable events. Recently, I volunteered to prepare food at the DC Central Kitchen, an organization in Washington, DC, that serves 5,000 free meals. I also participate in cause-related events in support of my friends and family like the Juvenile Diabetes 5K.
I’m looking forward to joining a team that will allow me to pursue my educational goals while strengthening the team, empowering teammates and contributing to the local community.
