Hello! I'm Harper, a sophomore at Glastonbury High School in Connecticut. I had always considered myself a basketball player until my good friend on the crew team convinced me to join as a novice. I immediately discovered I had a natural talent for the sport and was able to quickly grow thanks to my amazing coaches and mentors. In my novice year, I won an award for the fastest 2k, and in my spring season of sophomore year, I worked hard to have the 3rd fasted 2k in Glastonbury Girls Crew history. I believe the most important aspects of a team are commitment and connection. I have been able to form connections with my teammates that allow me to be confident in our commitment to each and every race. Not only do I have a passion for crew, but I also have a passion for my community. I am an active member of multiple clubs at my school such as Best Buddies, an organization that works with disabled students, and Key Club, a student volunteer organization. My ability to balance being in honors and AP classes, training to become a better rower, and giving back to the community make me a valuable and reliable member of any team. In the future, I hope to row as a part of a collegiate team that challenges me and pushes me to be the best rower I can be.
