"If your dreams don't scare you they aren't big enough "- Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. I would never had thought I would be a rower. I was never a natural athlete, I struggled with sports. I tried soccer for years, but just was not the right fit. I loved the team aspect, the practice and the feeling one gets from a good workout but the sport itself was not for me. However, when I stepped on a dock and sat in the boat and took an oar into my hands that all changed. I fell in love with the sound of the oars in the water, the slide of the seats, the wind against my face. I live for the rush of being in the boat with my team and working our way down the water. It is the most amazing feeling. That feeling is what drives me to want to continue to row in college.
I believe in setting goals and working for each one. I am a hard worker and put in the time and effort to reach them. This is seen in my athletics and academics. My dreams are big and I have the strength and dedication to work to reach them. They are so big they scare me, but that is just part of the fun.
I am looking forward to bringing my love of the sport, dedication and perseverance to college.
