Hi! My name is Brooklyn Bauer and I play 7/11 , 10, and 9. My most played position is 7/11 (winger). I will be a junior in high school in the fall and have been playing for my school since freshman year. I play club for Tongass Timbers. Through the Tongass Timbers program I have played futsal, indoor, and outdoor soccer. Once I got asked to play for the select team I started to understand the game of soccer through a different lens. My Timbers coach helped me personally get to a new level of self confidence while playing. My Sophmore year of high school I was named captain for the varsity team. Through that year I learned that it takes a lot more than just leadership to be captain. I learned how to deal with people who do not think you are qualified for a position, and how to help younger teammates understand and love the game as much as I do.
Throughout the school year I have a strong drive to obtain a high grade point average and be as involved in my school as much as possible. During the school year I participate in many extracuricullar activities such as, Rotary Interact, NSHSS, Class Act Mentors, and other forms of volunteer work. I have learned the different aspects to being a team player throughout high school from leadership to being a reliable teammate on and off the field.
I would be a good addition to a college soccer team because I work my hardest on and off the field to be the best athlete I can be. I take direct and corrections from coaches and see it as a way to only get better. I like to know what is expected of me and when I do I strive to reach every possible expectation. I love this game and am driven to keep growing in this sport.
