Personal Statement
As a student-athlete, I understand that being in a sport does not only challenge you physically, but also mentally. In order to perform, you must be able to compete at the highest level through both the good and bad, to perform the best every time you step onto the field. Since I have suffered a series of injuries in my years, I have been able to see the field from a different perspective, which has helped me become a smarter player. It is not only what you can do on the ball, but off the ball as well. Although, in order to use your skills, you need to be able to work and listen together as a team, and become one as a family. My skills are beneficial to a team because I can help you get up the field in numbers and keep opponents out of our third with high pressure.
I am looking to major in sports medicine because it allows me to help others overcome hardships and get back to doing what they love. It will also give me the chance to share my experiences with kids and adults to motivate and encourage them to get back in the action. Since I am a student-athlete in high school, I am aware of the dedication it takes to be on a high level sports team while also completing honors courses. It is important for me to grow as a person and an athlete, on or off the field in order to continuously become a better player.
