Ashley Bunnell '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ashley Bunnell, I am currently a junior at Mark T. Sheehan High School, in Wallingford, Connecticut. Currently, I play for CFC ECNL ll, a travel premier league in Connecticut as well as Mark T. Sheehan High’s varsity women’s soccer team.  Although I started my soccer career as a forward, I have quickly moved into the center back position while remaining dynamic and flexible all over the field.  The shift into the center back position has afforded me the opportunity to read and anticipate future plays from the scope of both the field and the individual player. From there, I have been able to guide and communicate those plays to my teammates. I continue to fall in love with the game as I grow and learn valuable lessons from coaches over the years.  I have learned how to better position myself and anticipate counter attacks coming from the other team by learning from and listening to my coaches. I’ve had many different influences that have brought me closer to understanding the game and myself as an individual. Both on and off the field I consider myself a very hard working individual.
