Personal Statement
Hello - my name is Jacqueline Barbara Santa Ynez Simeone. I have enjoyed my first three years of high school at IMG Academy both on and off the field. My highlights include a GPA of 4.09 while serving as a member of the National Honors Society, Student Council, and as an ambassador on the Student Activities Committee. I have also participated in Bible Study and attended the People to People Leadership Conference at Harvard University (2011) as a student delegate. I have enjoyed volunteering with Make a Wish Foundation, Miracle League, and also the Special Olympics. I am currently a rising senior, Class of 2014.
As Captain of the U17 team and Co-Captain of the IMG Academy U16 team, my primary field positions were center back and holding midfield. I am 5' 11.5" and 150 lbs. On the field, I am generally positive, encouraging, and complimentary to my teammates. Our team highlights for 2010-11 included completing the Club Directors League (CDL) Season in 2nd place and winning the Disney Memorial Day Tourney U17 Division. In 2011-2012, we were fortunate to compete in the CASL Showcase/ Final Four, Orange Classic, CDL Showcase, IMG Cup, State Cup, and also the Texas Shootout. I've also played on the Rider Cup and Massachusetts State Teams and attended Region I ODP Camp. Last summer, I attended the Region III camp as a member of the Florida ODP team and was chosen to play in the 'Mixed Training' game.
In college, I hope to play soccer in an academically challenging environment. I consider myself to be an outgoing and adventurous person ( I moved to IMG on my own at age 14 to play for IMG and begin High School). I am open to attending college most anywhere in the country as I appreciate change and welcome new environments. Overall, my ideal college would offer challenging academics, rigorous soccer training and competition, and an approachable and effective coaching staff.
