Personal Statement

As a goalkeeper the weight of the game is constantly on your shoulders, some people crumble under the pressure others embrace it. I embrace it, I love the feeling that I get when I make a game changing save. The adrenaline rushing through my veins driving me to give it everything I have left. That's why soccer is my escape, my life, my everything. Everyday I constantly demand more from myself everyday, expecting the very best from myself with school, sports, and being the best teammate I can be for when they need me. My academics are very important to me, as much as my soccer is.  Everyday I push myself to do my very best in anything I do. I may not be the strongest or the fastest on the field but, they will not beat me. My deep passion for this game goes to the first time I ever saw the USWNT play in person, I knew that was exactly where I wanted to be. The road may not be easy but I am ready and prepared for anything that may come my way. Having to be mentally and physically tough is in the job description and understanding it has its ups and downs but once I learned how to take the hardships it changed my veiw on the game. The criticism and hatred only fuels me to prove them wrong. I am constantly watching my favorite keepers, to learn from the very best and improve the way I see the game and my play style. But most importantly, the experiences and family I have built with the teams I have been on, I have brought with me throughout the years. As much as I want to succeed, I want my teammates to do the same, or even better. As much as I push my self I push them even harder to bring the very best out of them. Because as a team we win and fall together, I am no better than the ones I surround myself with. I don't succeed without them, together we accomplish the very best. I have more film of me during games and practices available on Instagram: tosborn.soccer.highlights.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
