Personal Statement
I started playing soccer when I was just 3 years old and quickly fell in love with the game. It has remained a staple in my life since then, but I did not specialize just on soccer. I also played basketball, tennis, and track, and participated in swim team and dance, which along with making me a more well rounded person benefited my skill set in soccer. My footwork, balance, and strength have all improved as a result of participating in these activities. Along with contributing to my physical abilities on the field playing multiple sports on many different teams has helped me become a team player that can work well with many different personalities in countless situations on and off the field. While participating in these activities I continued to work hard in the classroom maintaining straight A’s while taking many advanced, honors, and AP classes. The decision making and high level thinking skills I learn in the classroom help me read the field and make smart and effective decisions during games which I think is a key attribute to have, as I play center back and help my team build up the field and defend. My composure and ability to read the game combined with my strength and passing abilities are keys to my success on the field. I am very coachable and am always driven to give my best on and off the field to help my team achieve both our team goals and my personal goals as well. My work ethic, determination, commitment, competitive spirit, and knowledge of the game have helped me be the best teammate, leader, and player I can be for my team and would continue to help me if I get the opportunity to play college soccer. Playing college soccer would allow me to receive a quality education, as academics are very important to me, as well as give me the opportunity to continue to play the game I have always loved at a competitive level.
