Personal Statement
Soccer is one of my biggest stepping stones. Fourteen years of my life, my world has revolved around two things, soccer and school. Soccer has been more than just a sport or hobby, it is a form of expression, it's a teacher, it's a parental figure and above all, it is my true happiness.
Soccer is one of the few things that I've been able to maintain a passion for. Through soccer, I have shaped into a committed, responsible person, whether it is on or off the field. I have learned responsibility, which is a quality not only necessary for the game, but for life. Soccer has taught me to always finish what I start.
Of all the things soccer has taught me, the most important one is leadership. Being a leader is a key aspect in life. When on a team, I learned to play every game like I was the best and to overcome those around me. I take the same view on life. Leadership is a difficult quality to find because nobody wants to fail. Not me, I will take what I have learned on the field.
Overall, contributing to soccer has been more than a pleasure. Everything I have given on the field, the game has given back to me. It has been a best friend and a teacher. It has taught me lessons that I cannot learn in school. Morals and qualities that not many have, I have been able to develop due to my participation. I have the drive, aggressiveness, determination, self-control, self-confidence, mental toughness, leadership and many more you are looking for in a soccer player.
I am who I am today thanks to soccer, and I will be forever grateful.
