Personal Statement
Hello , my name is Katie and I have played soccer for six years. Four of those years were played at Comeaux High School in Lafayette,LA . My first 3 years years on the high school soccer team went well and I started JV playing Left Back and at the end of my junior year I was awarded the most improved JV player. At then end of my junior year our varsity goalkeeper graduated meaning we were in need for a goalkeeper my senior year. I had played goalie before in middle school and had pretty good hand eye coordination so it wasn't that new to me. I thought long and hard about it over the summer, if I should switch positions from left back to goalie and start training or not. After two weeks of thinking I made up my mind to switch and train for goalkeeping. That was probably the best decision I've ever made because all along I was in the wrong position , being goalie is what I was born to be . And I have some people ask me "Katie why did you switch?" and I tell them it was because that what my team needed and I'll do anything for my teammates. Now I am the starting varsity goalie for the Comeaux Lady Spartans Soccer Team and it's a wonderful feeling. So far all is going well and my teammates have helped me transitioned smoothly and I thank them for that. It seems that every game I play I surprise myself because I never thought I would start varsity but now I am in the right position, making unbelievable saves and getting compliments from many other teams and coaches. And I would just like to thank God for everything.
Besides soccer I would like to attend college and major in electrical engineering. I've always had a love for computer and technology and the beauty behind it. My favorite part about it is programming things and making robots function.
