Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since the age of three. Throughout my time progressing as a soccer player I have realized that I aspire to play at a higher level, a collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a great opportunity that will help me improve and learn new skills, both athletically and professionally.
In college, I wish to continue on playing the sport that I love, soccer. My goals in college are to learn new skills that I could apply on the field, to become a better leader, and expand my work ethic even more. I also want to prosper in the major that I choose and develop new techniques I could use later in life.
I am always working hard, whether it's in practice or during the game. I learn from my mistakes and am very coachable. I take all corrections and constructive criticism with ease and am always asking how I played after a game so I can try and do better the next. Also, I will help anyone on my team in a supportive and encouraging way. I will always put in my best effort and give 110% to my coaches and teammates.
Recently I was voted as a captain on my club team by my coach and teammates because of my leadership on and off the field. I would say that my best in-game assets are my vision of the field, knowledge of the game, distribution, and quality and accuracy of my shot. My coach also had me take all of the penalty kicks for the team and I was perfect on all attempts this past season.
While playing soccer, I still maintain a very high GPA. I work just as hard in the classroom as I do on the field. I also volunteer at my church, help out my local soccer club, and am apart of many different clubs including National Honors Society, Business Professionals of America, Key Club and STARS (Students Taking A Right Stand), which is a club that helps students make the right decisions in life.
