Hello, my name is Vanessa Deveau and I have been playing soccer since I was two years old. I played locally on a town team up until 3rd grade when in 4th I made the switch to club. I always knew I enjoyed playing soccer but 6th grade is when I knew I was in love with the sport, not only playing but watching it too. Every Saturday morning I would watch Premier League games with my dad, who is one of my biggest inspirations. My dad played soccer too and he definitely no doubt made me the player I am today. The first club I played for was NEFC and I stayed there for about 2 years, then moved to Boston Breakers for another 2 both in New Hampshire, and have played ECNRL FC Stars out of Lancaster, Massachusetts since 7th grade and currently. I fit in the best with my current team and love them like family which I feel is also a huge part of soccer. Not only playing on a team but creating these special friendships through the game just makes everything so much better. I have always been a very social person, I love talking to different people and am always open to making new friends, and I believe soccer has helped me gain that characteristic of myself, as well as being brave and kind. The school has also taught me a lot, including how to handle emotions and stress. I have always been a good student. In the classroom, I average a B+. During middle school, I would struggle with time management but before I started high school I worked on that to get better at it. Soccer has also made me realize in order to want to achieve something whether it be something big or small you have to work for it it never will come easy.
