My name is Emma Lovell (class of 2025) and I aspire to be a student athlete at a top-tier academic university or college where I can also compete in soccer at an elite level. I currently play for the Albion Hurricanes FC U17 ECNL (Houston, TX) and the Ridge Point High School Varsity (Missouri City, TX) teams. I was recently selected to play outside back in the 2024 Continental Tire ECNL National Selection Game - Florida Winter. I am a 90-minute, “box-to-box” ECNL player usually starting games at Centerback and then shifting to Wing-back in our 3-5-2 formation when my club team needs me to press in the attack. I was the scoring and assist leader last season on my team.
I consider my strengths as a soccer player to be my speed, versatility, first touch, vision, disciplined defense, and high "Soccer IQ". I train on the side with former Professional (German 3-4th League), MLS Cup Winner (Houston Dynamo) and NCAA Champion (UNC) Marcus L. Storey. Aside from being dedicated to soccer, I am extremely hard working and give maximum effort in everything I do. I am also very “coachable” as I listen and respond to feedback very well. I would love to realize my goal of continuing my soccer career at the collegiate level while also pursuing a degree in Science (Biology) or Math.
I’m proud to have been an integral part of my Ridge Point Varsity team that has made the 2023 Texas UIL 6A State Cup Finals and 2022 Semifinals in my first two years of high school with a combined record of 50-2-5 (244 GF & 18 GA). I am a starter on a defense that has had 47 shutouts in my two years. In both 2022 & 2023 I was recognized with 2nd-Team All-District 20-6A Honors and Academic All-Conference Honors with a 4.0 GPA (4.3 weighted).
In Fall of 2022, I moved from the Girls Academy league to the ECNL league because I want to regularly compete and showcase my skills against the best competition in Texas. Previously, I was Team Captain and the starting Center Mid/Back for the Dash 07 GA team led by Coach Omar Morales. While at Dash I was selected each year to participate in the Girls Academy Talent ID Conference Event for the Top 32 players and our team consistently qualified for the GA Summer Playoffs and Champions League national events.
I have played competitive club soccer since I was 7 years old and it’s my true passion. My other hobbies include rifle shooting, reading and drawing. I volunteer at my church's Vacation Bible School (VBS), The Houston Food Bank, Lunches of Love, and coach and referee in the Dynamo Dash Youth Soccer recreational program.
Lastly, I'm very thankful for my family. They devote a lot of time to soccer as my younger sister, Ella, also plays for the Albion Hurricanes FC U14 ECNL team. I would not be where I am without their love and support!
