My name is Emma Roberson and I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. I have always learned the most by pushing myself and by doing so have found goalkeeping as my most devoted position. Being on pitch and in net is where I find my happy place.
I have great game awareness, a commanding voice, and the drive to be the most competitive goalkeeper that I can be. With that being said I am also very capable of handling my emotions on the pitch by staying calm, collected, and focused under immense pressure. I have close to 6 years of experience as a goal keeper. I started out playing keeper with my club the Utah Development Academy. I then transferred schools my sophomore year so I could play with a high school team. I walked onto varsity at 14 as the only varsity goalkeeper and provided my high school their first winning record in over a decade acquiring MVP that season. I went on to playing semi pro in the WUPSL with Olympique Montreux. This helped me develop most as a player as I was able to compete with adults who have either played pro or at the collegiate level. My time with the team was then cut short when I broke my collar bone going for a dive on my left side.
This time was extremely difficult for me as I was unable to physically participate in the net or on the pitch. However this didn't stop me from helping my team, I continued to go to almost every practice and when I got cleared to participate I broke it again. I used this time to my advantage by focusing on my academics, hobbies, and strengthening myself to start playing indoor in the upcoming winter months. I participated with my team in weightlifting including preparing our team for transitioning into the hardest region in the state of Utah. I find myself now as a student, team mate, soccer player, and snowboarder in my home state of Utah.
