Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I first started playing goalkeeper at age 9 at the club that I am currently at right now. I play for Croatian Eagles SC in Franklin, WI. I'm on the U-18 team as a 17 year old and I have never played at my age level; always a year or two above. Ever since I was little I always dreamed about pursuing a college career of soccer. I started on varsity my freshman year and really worked my way up to the position. So far in high school, I have been awarded with team MVP (x2), Most Dedicated, First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Area. I have an excellent work ethic and I take criticism very well. I know that with hard training, I'm going to get feedback. This will only make me grow as a player. I know that the game is not just about the physical aspect of it, but the mental part too. I love being a leader through everything that I am apart of. I like to take charge and really try to be someone that others can come to if they need someone; and that goes for anything, not just soccer or school. I strongly agree to the encouragement of my teammates. I am very dedicated to this sport and will always try my best and work to my full potential. In the classroom, I'm a conscientious worker and keep an above average GPA. I work just as hard in school as on the field to get the best grades that I possibly can. Not only is school very important to me, but so are all the things I do outside of school. I’m involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. I partake in student council, HOSA club (Health Occupations Students of America), math club, GAB Peer Ambassador (Generations Against Bullying) and when I have the extra time I like to volunteer at homeless shelters, food pantries, and nursing homes through my church. Also, through my church, I am a kindergarten teacher for Sunday School. It's almost every Sunday morning for about 2 hours. On top of all that, I work a part-time job at Jimmy Johns to earn extra saving money towards my future. I also work seasonal jobs at at The Rock Sports Complex in the fall and winter. I know I have a very busy schedule but it has helped me so much with my time-management skills and keeping focused at what I want to accomplish in life. I feel that I have a good head on my shoulders and can take on any challenge that comes my way. I want to attend a college where I can push myself on and off the field. I have not eliminated any options for a college or major either. I have done a lot of thinking as to what I want to major in. As of now, my desired major of choice is nursing. I enjoy helping people and I love to talk to people. I'd consider myself as an outgoing person and I say that with complete confidence. I ultimately want to find the right college fit that will accomodate my academic needs along with a competitive soccer team.
