I have many goals regarding my college education and soccer. I am currently in the transfer portal and looking for a new program. In terms of my educational goals, I intend to pursue earning a degree in exercise science, kinesiology, biology, or other science-related fields in preparation for my ultimate goal of a career in physical therapy or sports medicine. In terms of my soccer-related goals and aspirations, I hope to have the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love and contribute meaningfully to a team. I would like to further develop my soccer and leadership skills as well. Furthermore, it is a priority for me to play competitively and give my best alongside others who are equally dedicated and committed to each other and our school. I think that my educational and soccer-related goals complement each other, and I will develop the most as a person and professional by engaging in both activities to the best of my ability.
I would be a good candidate for a college soccer team because I have a diverse skill set. Two of my more notable strengths are my speed and agility. Additionally, I am a strong competitor who thrives in defense and transitions from defense to the attack. I have strong abilities to chase down and shut down an attacking player or intercept a pass. Then, I am able to convert a defensive move or steal into an effective attack to advance the ball up the field.
I am different from other recruits in my character, athleticism, and academic performance. Character is very important to me. I am a devoted team player and a good sport. I try to encourage my teammates and push them to get better, and I respect my opponents and acknowledge their skill level. Furthermore, I am very persistent, determined, and coachable. If I make a mistake, I learn from it and use that mistake to help myself improve. I never give up, no matter if I am recovering from an injury or playing in a tough game or practice. I continue to work hard outside of practice to better my technical ball skills and conditioning without being told or reminded to do so. I always give 100% effort both on and off the field. I am a fast runner and current record holder of the 100-meter dash at my middle school (sadly track season in high school is also the same as soccer so I am not able to continue sprinting in track). I also have good endurance and flexibility which I have worked hard to develop through soccer and by cross-training with cycling, running, strength training, and yoga. Additionally, I am different from other recruits through my excellent academic performance. I have earned all A's and had a grade point average of 4.13 and had a class rank of 28 out of 370 students. More importantly than grades and class rank to me is that I have put the time and effort into mastering concepts that I had trouble understanding at first. I am always willing to listen to feedback and use that to become a better student and athlete. I am a well-rounded student and have enjoyed and performed well in reading, writing, Spanish, science, gym, art, and many other courses.
In summary, I am a well-rounded student-athlete who can bring leadership, athleticism, commitment, drive, sportsmanship, and an infectious positive energy to my team. I believe I can use these traits to help any team reach our goals and fulfill our greatest potential.
