Hello, I am Kennedy Ross and am a part of the 2024 graduating class at Waunakee High School. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in competitive soccer for over 10 years. I played outside midfield and outside back as a part of the FC Wisconsin ECNL soccer club for six years, through the U16 level. As an ECNL player at FC Wisconsin, I was provided an amazing opportunity to work with world-class coaches including Christian Lavers and Andrew Lee. Their curriculum, player development, competitive focus, training, and competition environments are preparing me to achieve my goal of playing soccer in college.
I recently transitioned from the FCW ECNL U17 team and joined the Madison 56ers to compete in the newly established Elite 64 of US Youth Soccer as part of their 2006 girls team. This transition has provided me the opportunity to participate in club soccer at the highest level possible in my local area and also balance the demands of maintaining academic excellence as I prepare for college.
I am a flexible player and primarily play in the outside midfield or outside back position, however, I am more than willing to play any position as I have excellent foot skills, field vision, decision-making ability, and communication with my team and coaches. As a Varsity High School player, I played outside midfield and outside back my freshman year. In my sophomore year, I stepped into the role of a starting center back in order to help my team earn a spot in the 2022 Division 1 State Tournament. A key strength of mine is my work ethic. I am constantly looking to push myself past my comfort zone, in and out of soccer.
I completed my Sophomore year of High School with a 3.9 GPA. I excel and enjoy math and language arts. Additionally, I was offered a roster spot on the Madison Futsal National 2024 Girls team and I referee for Madison Futsal games. I also work twice per week with an individual training coach at the University of Wisconsin sports performance center and focus on strength training for comprehensive athletic development and injury prevention.
