Class of 2027 Northland Preparatory Academy High School (Freshman)
I see myself doing well in a team environment, giving my all, and will make a valuable contribution to my team in my swimming performance as well as supporting team members. I have been lucky to watch, learn, and befriend the swimmers of Northern Arizona University team as we share the same pool as my club team. In addition, our pool hosts International swimmers throughout the year. I have been personally recognized many times by the coaches as the hardest worker in our practices, you should see my collection of caps!
My swimming career started like many of my peers due to my parents starting with lessons during the summer months. They all took notice that I had the drive from the beginning with the challenge of swimming one lap to get out of the baby pool and swim in the big pool, I was 6. Swimming became a major part of my life from that very first competitive practice. As an early age group swimmer, I would balance my time between competitive soccer and swim. The call to swim full time came in the summer at the age of 10 with my first travel meet to Far Westerns. With the help of my coaches and family I learned the value of goal setting, disciplined, self-motivated, a go-getter and never give up attitude have molded me into the swimmer I am today. In academics I strive to do the best I can in and out of the classroom, and I work hard to achieve the necessary grades needed to support my future athletic career. Looking past high school, I plan to major in biology or anatomy to launch me to my goals to continue to further my education in the medical field.
My busy Summer 2023 I was selected to attend USA Swimming Western Zones Select Camp at San Diego State, 3 weeks of Arizona Swim Camp (NAU) and 1 week of Sun Devil Camp (ASU). I spent 5 weeks away from home and team to learn from different coaches, was exposed to new dryland techniques and attended classroom lessons about the art of swimming. What a summer of fun and swimming!
