Personal Statement
Dear coach or recuiter,
Thank you for investing time into my profile! I hope through this personal statement, I can express what statistics or numbers on a screen cannot. I value and appreciate every consideration.
Let's start off with my swimming experiences. I have been swimming for 8 years on USS club, including 4 years on my high school's varsity swim team. I have swum at the CT Girls High School State Opens meet for the past4 years, also placing top 16 in the state of Connecticut for the past 6 years. During junior and senior seasons, I was awarded as All-Conference athlete, All-State athlete and was elected as a team captain for senior year. Now that high school season has concluded, I am awarded All-Conference athlete, All-State athlete and two times CT Post All Star Athletes, two times of New Haven Register All-Area athlete..
I am proud of my accoplishments and successes in the pool, however, the pool is not the only place where I have spent my time. I am an honor roll student, and the president of the National Chinese Honors Society, as well as a Link Crew leader at my high school. I am also an active member at my local church. I extremely enjoy the time spent with the worship team, and the youth group.
Whether in or out of the pool, I always give 100% of myself to whatever the subject may be. I feel that through helping others, I may be able to learn from these experiences. I am very reseptive to new ideas and pretty much anything else. For any one of my friends who seeks guidance, my help and support is always available.
Lastly, I am looking for a college/university that provides a vigorus academic programs as well as a competitive swim team where I will always be motivated and strive to be the best. Swimming has brought me great happiness and things I would have never dreamed of acheiving. I thank my great family, friends and peers for supporting me through this whole journey, hopefully this journey won't end just yet!
Sincerely,
Anna Lu
