Swimming has been a huge aspect of my life since I was 8 years old. This particular sport has been my passion in life over the past eight years. I take pride in working out and setting long term goals for myself. Always being supportive of my team and teammates has been a huge priority to me during my years of swimming. I want to continue to be a competitive, valued, determined and successful team member while I continue my journey within the collegiate level of swimming.
I have always strived to be better within myself and the sport of swimming. At the start of each season I set goals for myself which include times and where I see myself at the end of the season. I strive to do everything I have to, to make sure that these goals I have set are obtained and achieved at the conclusion of my season. For instance, last year I set the goal to make the New York State cut time in individual events. I ended my season at the New York State meet competing in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle events. I value the sport of swimming because it has not only helped me become a better person and athlete but it has also impacted the person I am outside the pool. Time management is key while being a student athlete. As I am determined with my goals inside the pool, I strive for the same goals and achievements academically.
During my college search I am not only looking for a school that offers the degree of Psychology, but a school that will continue to push me within the swimming community. I am opened to leaving the state of New York and exploring my options in warmer weather. I love the idea of possibly going across country to California. I am opened to swimming with a division one or division two school. Scholarships for academics or swimming would greatly help with the decision I will be making in a few short months. The possibilities are endless, and I am excited to begin this next chapter!
